The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a female minor, Prerna alias Deeva. She was born on 19th February 2018. She was admitted to Shraddhanand Mahilashram, the Petitioner, on 28th February 2018 by an order of the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City II on that date. Her biological mother executed a Deed of Surrender before the Child Welfare Committee on 28th March 2018.

Prerna has since been declared legally free for adoption, following the necessary procedures.

The minutes of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Petitioner as also the motivation letter from the proposed parents, the decision of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Chief Functionary of the Petitioner are all on record. 4.
The adoptive parents live in Nagpur. They are 41 and 30 years respectively. They have been married for the past 9 years since 15th January 2009. They have one biological son Haksh, aged today 6 years. His birth certificate is on record.

The medical report of the minor shows no abnormalities. The adoptive father has polio and requires support to walk. The adoptive mother's health report shows no abnormalities. The HIV reports of all are negative.

The adoptive parents are self-employed. The adoptive father's income for the Assessment year 2017-2018 is Rs. 20,98,649/- and the income of the adoptive mother for the Assessment Year 2017-2018 is Rs.8,59,229/-.

The assessment report dated 24th June 2016 of the social worker is positive and recommends the adoption. There is also a child security undertaking given by some friends of the adoptive parents. These persons have agreed to look after the minor should the need arise in an unfortunate eventuality. 8.
The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

Investment is, at the instance of the adoptive parents specified at Rs. 2 lakhs.
10. I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.
11. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
