This Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a male minor, Preet. He was born on 14th July 2017. He was admitted to the Petitioner institution on 26th July 2017. His biological mother executed a Deed of Surrender before the Child Welfare Committee on 6th November 2017.

Preet has since been declared legally free for adoption. The minutes of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Petitioner are on record. The motivation letter from the proposed parents, the decision of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Chief Functionary of the Petitioner are also on record.

The adoptive parents live in Chennai. They are 42 and 36 years respectively. They have been married for the past 11 years since 8th February 2007. They have no children of their own. 4.

The health reports of the minor indicate that he suffers from hearing loss in both ears. This is moderate. The adoptive parents have countersigned the report. The medical reports of the adoptive parents are normal.

The adoptive father works in a company at Chennai and his annual gross salary for the Assessment year 2017-2018 is Rs. 5,14,103/-. The adoptive mother works as an Assistant in a higher secondary school with a monthly gross salary of Rs. 15,500/-. 6.

The assessment report by the social worker in Chennai dated 14th September 2016 is positive and recommends the adoption. There is a child security undertaking dated 2nd May 2018 by the adoptive father's sister and brother-in-law. They too reside in Chennai. They agree and undertake to look after the minor should the need arise and in the event of any mishap. 7.

At the request of the adoptive parents, the investment amount is set at Rs. 2 lakhs.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

10. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
