The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a female minor, Ragini. She was born on 24th March 2018. Her biological mother surrendered her to the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai Suburban District, on 6th April 2018 when she was given in safe custody of the Petitioner institution, St Catherine's Home. 2.

Ragini has since been declared legally free for adoption. The decision of the Adoption Committee is on record.

The motivation letter from the proposed parents, the decision of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Chief Functionary of the Petitioner are all on record. 4.

The adoptive parents live in Belagavi, Karnataka. They are 43 and 39 years respectively. They have been married for the past 14 years since 11th June 2004. They have no children of their own. 5.

The health report of the adoptive parents and the minor show no abnormalities. The HIV reports of all three are negative. 6.

The adoptive father is self employed businessman and his annual income for the Assessment year 2017-2018 is Rs. 3,79,965/-. The adoptive mother is a housewife.

The assessment report by the social worker is positive and recommends the adoption. There is a guardianship undertaking dated 24th July 2018 by the adoptive father's sister and brother-inlaw. They reside in Pune. They agree and undertake to look after the minor should the need arise.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

10. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
