The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a female minor, Shrushti. She was born on 20th December 2017. She was brought by the Dadar Railway Police Station to the Child Welfare Committee on 23rd December 2017 and, thereafter admitted to the Shraddhanand Mahilashram, the Petitioner institution on that date.

Shrushti has since been declared legally free for adoption. The minutes of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Petitioner are on record.

The adoptive parent is a single woman. She is divorced. She lives in Chennai and is 36 years old. She has no children of her own. She was married on 5th June 2009 and divorced on 6th September 2011. A copy of her divorce decree is on record. 4.

The medical report for the minor states that she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Her milestones are normal. The adoptive mother has countersigned this report. She herself is in good health and her medical report shows no abnormalities.

The adoptive mother works as a Technical Director with a private limited company in Chennai with a gross monthly salary of Rs.62,000/-.

The assessment report by with the social worker is positive and recommends the adoption. There is also a child security undertaking dated 23th June 2018 given by adoptive mother's sister and brother-in-law, who too live in Chennai. They agree and undertake to look after the minor should the need arise and in the event of any unfortunate mishap.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
