It is agreed at the bar that the arbitration proceedings commenced prior to the Amendment Act No.3 of 2016 which was brought into effect from 23.10.2015. This petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 thus would not be maintainable. It is accordingly disposed of.

It is informed that earlier the petitioner inadvertently filed a petition under Section 29A when it was not maintainable. The parties are accordingly free to proceed with the arbitral proceedings. [G.S. KULKARNI, J.]
