Upon praecipe, matter is listed today on the production board.

The grievance of the Petitioners is that in regard to recovery of water charges from them, they have made representation / objection (Exhibit J) before Respondent No. 2, but the said representation has not been considered and decided by the competent authority. Learned counsel appearing for the Respondents, on 1 / 2

WPL. 2551-17 instructions, submits that the competent authority will consider and take appropriate decision on the said representation (Exhibit J). In view of this, we dispose of the petition by directing the competent authority of the respondents to consider the Petitioners' representation (Exhibit J) and take an appropriate decision on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. Till the decision on the Petitioners' representation is taken by the competent authority, no coercive steps shall be taken against them for the recovery of amount in pursuance of the communication dated 4.9.2017 (Exhibit I). However, the Petitioners shall continue to pay the monthly water charges, in accordance with law. With these directions, writ petition is disposed of.
