1] Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondent.

2] This is a petition filed under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (for short called as, "the Act"), whereby the petitioner prays for extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceeding and publish an award. 3] It is informed that the witnesses on behalf of the petitioner have already been examined. Learned counsel for the respondent states that the respondent would be examining only 2 to 3 witnesses. Learned counsel for the respondent would also agree that the evidence on behalf of all parties would be completed at the earliest. Accordingly the mandate of the arbitral 1/2

18 ARBPL 1026 OF 2019 tribunal would be required to be extended considering the interest of the parties. Accordingly following order.

Order I] The mandate of the arbitral proceeding is extended for a period of six weeks from today.

II] The arbitral tribunal shall endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award within the extended period so that the parties are not called upon to seek further extension. III] Petition is disposed of in above terms. No costs. [G. S. KULKARNI, J] 2/2
