The learned counsel submits that subsequently the larger Bench of the Apex Court has decided the matter and had directed the National Commission to frame comprehensive Rules regarding appearance of the agents, representatives, registered organizations and / or non-advocates appearing before the avk 1/3
National Commission, the State Commission and the District forums governing their qualifications, conduct and ethical behaviour of agents / non-advocates / representatives, registered organizations and / or agents appearing before the Consumer Forums. The learned counsel submits that pursuant to the said directions of the Apex Court on 29th August 2011, in case of C.Venkatachalam vs. Ajitkumar C. Shah and Ors., the Regulations are framed namely the Consumer Protection (Procedure for regulation of allowing appearance of agents or representatives or non-advocates or voluntary organizations before the Consumer forums) Regulations 2014. The learned counsel submits that subsequently the State Commission in Maharashtra has given accreditation to the petitioner. However, the application of the petitioner for accreditation is pending before the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, the same is not yet decided. The said application is pending for more than ten months. avk 2/3
We have heard the learned AGP, who appears for respondent nos.1 to 3.
Considering the above, the major grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. The respondent no.3 shall decide the application of the petitioner dated 1st August 2016 expeditiously, preferably within six months from today.
