By this petition under section 29A of the Arbitration and Concilition Act, 1996 the petitioner seeks extension of time to complete arbitral proceedings which are pending before a sole arbitrator. Although petition seeks extension for a period of two months as also substitute of the sole arbitrator. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that prayer (b) is not relevant today and not being pressed. It is submitted that the mandate of the arbitrator has expired on 31 st July, 2018.

However, proceeding before the arbitrator had since been completed and written submission on both sides have been filed. All that remains is for the arbitral tribunal to make and pass an award.
