This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (for short, "the Act") whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time for a further period of six months, to enable the arbitral tribunal to publish an award. It is submitted that the matter is closed for award.

Mr.Rajadhyaksha, learned Counsel for respondent No.1 states that Section 29A is not applicable to the arbitration in question. Accordingly he states that there is no need for any extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. Accepting the contention of Mr.Rajadhyaksha,
