This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time for a period of twelve months, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is submitted that the respondent's witness is being cross-examined. This is the first extension.

Having perused the averments in the petition, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award is required to be extended. Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for 8 months with effect from 5 October 2019.
