1] This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time by a period of six months, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is submitted that cross examination of the respondents' witness is in progress. 2] This extension is sought after a period of 18 months has expired. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, it is in the interest of justice that the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award be extended.
