1] This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time by a period of six months, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is submitted that 18 months period is expiring tomorrow. The arbitration is at a stage that only the pleadings are completed.

2] Learned counsel for the respondent has no objection for the prayers as made in the petition.

3] Having perused the averments in the petition, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award 1/2

907 ARBPL 1263 OF 2019 is extended for a period of six months from the date of this order. 4] The arbitral tribunal shall make an endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings within the extended period and publish an award. The parties are directed to co-operate in the expeditious disposal of the arbitral proceedings.

5] Disposed of. No costs.
