This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time for a period of twelve months, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is submitted that the cross examination of respondent' s witness is in progress.

Having perused the averments in the petition, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award is required to be extended. Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for six months. The arbitral tribunal shall make an endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings, considering the fact that already on two occasions the extension was granted. 3.

Disposed of. No costs.
