This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time for a period of one year, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is informed that the claimant's witness is being examined. 2.

Having perused the averments in the petition, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award is required to be extended. Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended by a period of eight months from today. The arbitral tribunal shall make an endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings, so that the parties are not required to again approach to seek extension. The parties shall co-operate in the early disposal of the proceedings.
