This petition is filed under the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 in pursuance of an order passed in Indian Guardianship Petition No.138 of 2004, granting minor Joshua in adoption to the present petitioners, who now seek to adopt the minor as their own child. The petitioners had filed Indian Guardianship Petition No.138 of 2004, which was disposed on 8 th December 2004, and they reiterate the contents of that petition. It is in pursuance of an order passed by this court in Indian Guardianship Petition No.74 of 1999, 1/2 9-IAP-108-2021 & JO-210-2021.doc Dixit

along with Guardianship Petition No.73 of 1999, that this court allowed Christians to adopt the child taken in guardianship after a period of two years.

In the case at hand, the Adoption Committee has found the petitioners eligible and suitable for conversion of their guardianship to adoption of the minor. The minor male child Joshua is now aged 17 years and is said to be well-settled as a part of the petitioners' family. He is a student of Singapore International School in Mumbai.

Income records of the petitioners are also found to be satisfactory. The petitioners also have made certain investments in the name of the minor, all of which are found to be satisfactory. The petitioners have appeared before the court today along with the minor and having interacted with them and having perused the petition and the record, including the recommendations of friends and relatives, I have no hesitation in allowing this petition. 4.

Accordingly, I pass the following order :- (i) Petition is made absolute in terms of prayer clauses (a) to (f).

(ii) Judge's Order is signed separately.

(iii) Petition is disposed in the above terms.
