The petition is under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The disputes between the parties were referred to the sole arbitration of Mr Shiraz Rustomjee, learned Senior Advocate of this Court, by an order dated 2nd May 2018 in Commercial Arbitration Petition No. 408 of 2018. 2.

Mr Rustomjee has entered upon the reference to his arbitration on 5th May 2018. The parties agree to an initial extension of six months. The arbitral mandate came to an end on 5th November 2019.

The petition states, and there is no dispute about this, that not only are pleadings complete but evidence has been led. The cross-examination of the last witness on behalf of the respondent remains to be concluded after which final arguments will commence.

Having regard to these circumstances, I will extend time for completion of the arbitration to 30th April 2020. 5.

The advocates for the respondent are based in Delhi. The learned Advocate has telephonic instructions to appear. 6.

The petition is disposed of in these terms. There will be no order as to costs.
