The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a male minor, Vivek. He was born on 5th November 2013. He was the biological son of the Respondent and one Sandeep Patil, who passed away on 6th April 2017. The Respondent then married Sanjay Chandrakant Chavan, who refused to take any responsibility for the minor. The Petitioner was made the de facto guardian of the minor in June 2018. The Petitioner now seeks to adopt the minor. The Respondent has given consent to this adoption.

The proposed adoptive parents are Indian Nationals and are residing at Tardeo, Mumbai. They are 36 and 34 years old. They have been married for 13 years. They have two biological daughters. The motivation letter from the proposed parents is on record. 3.

The medical reports of the minor are on record. The report states that the minor is mentally and physically fit. The health report of the adoptive parents also show no abnormalities. 4.

The adoptive father is a Police Sub-Inspector with the Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Mumbai. His monthly gross salary is Rs. 52,777/-. The adoptive mother is working as a Clerk with Beekaylon Synthetics Private Limited, Mumbai. Her monthly gross salary is Rs. 18,820/-.

The home study report is positive and recommends the adoption. It shows that the couple have a strong and stable marital life.

There is a notarized undertaking by Petitioner's brother-inlaw and sister-in-law. They reside at Jogeshwari East and have agreed and undertaken to look after the minor in the event of any mishap.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
