The petition is for an extension of arbitral mandate under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. Mr Aurup Dasgupta, learned advocate, was appointed the sole arbitrator by an order dated 16th November 2017. He entered upon the reference to his arbitration on 19th December 2017. Before him pleadings were completed. The matter had proceeded to evidence, when time ran out. Parties consented to an initial extension of six months. Later, this Court extended the mandate for a further six months from 4th June 2019. The extended mandate ends on 4th December 2019.

I am informed that further hearings have already been scheduled and what remains is only the filing of written submissions and perhaps a few supplementary arguments.

Accordingly I will extend the time up to 30th April 2020. 4.
The petition is disposed of in these terms. There will be no order as to costs.
