The petitioner Asha Sadan runs a child care institute recognised by the State and is a Specialised Adoption Agency recognised under Section 65 of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. The petitioners propose to grant in adoption a minor male child Meet born on 9 th June, 2021 to the prospective adoptive father, a single parent, who is the copetitioner and proposed adopter. The child has been declared legally free for adoption by the Child Welfare Committee on 25 th August, 2021 at Exhibit B-1 and is said to be in the care of the Adoption Group of Asha Sadan. The child is said to be in foster care with the co-petitioner who has agreed to assume the responsibility of the child. The Co-petitioner was registered under the CARINGS portal of CARA and has been found eligible and suitable to adopt the child. The co-petitioner has executed a child care arrangement along with one Shikha Dey who is said to be his mother. He proposes to work from home for 24 months and does not intend to change his place of work in the foreseeable future. His mother and aunt are staying with him and thus according to the co-petitioner bringing up the child is convenient.

The proposal to adopt is supported by friends and colleagues of the copetitioner annexed at Exhibits H, H-1 and H-2. The Home Study Report and child study report appear to be in order. The co-petitioner is reasonably well placed in terms of employment and income. He also owns property in Bangalore alongwith Ms. Shikha Dey said to be his mother. Considering the recommendation and the child security undertaking by the sister and brother in law of the co-petitioner I am of the view that this petition can be allowed. However it will be necessary for the co-petitioners to file a further affidavit of the mother of the co-petitioner Shikha Dey confirming that she is willing to attend to the needs of the child in the absence of the co-petitioner. (i) Subject to filing of an affidavit of the co-petitioners mother Ms. Shikha Dey as above, petition is made absolute in terms of prayer clause (a) to (e) both inclusive.

(ii) Co-petitioner shall invest a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- in the name of the child in LIC's Single Endowment Plan No.917 for 18 years. No loan shall be taken on the policy. The petitioner shall file evidence of this fact having been communicated to the LIC in the registry promptly after the policy is issued. (iii) Undertakings are accepted.

(iv) Accordingly, Judge's order is signed separately. (v) Petition is disposed in terms of the above.
