By this petition, which is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the Petitioner is seeking following reliefs: "(a) that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to issue a writ of mandamus or a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction thereby directing the Respondent to decide the claim of the Petitioner's eligibility for Permanent Alternate Accommodation;

(c) for such other and further reliefs as the nature and circumstances of the case may require."

In our view, petition can be conveniently disposed of by directing the Chief Executive Officer, Bombay Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, MHADA to decide the Petitioner's claim for permanent alternate accommodation as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of 8 weeks. If the Petitioner is declared to be entitled to get permanent alternate accommodation, the said officer may consider granting the accommodation and if possible grant him permanent alternate accommodation. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
