The Petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. By an order of this Court dated 15th January 2019, the previous Arbitral Award dated 12th March 2013 was set aside on an application under section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 and the court appointed Mr. Harshad Sathe, learned Advocate of this court as the Sole Arbitrator. The Court also directed that the Arbitration proceedings be completed expeditiously within two months from the date of the order. The learned Arbitrator entered upon the reference to his arbitration shortly thereafter.

Before the Arbitrator, the matter has proceeded. The Respondent's Advocate had some medical issues and these prevented the timely completion of the arbitration. Hence an extension for a period of four months was granted by an order of this court dated 15th March 2019.

A further extension for a period of three months was granted by this court vide order dated 29th August 2019. The extended arbitral mandate ended on 29th November 2019. 4.

At present, certain orders are pending before the learned Sole Arbitrator. The parties thus seek an extension to complete the arbitral proceedings.

Having regard to these circumstances I will extend time till 31st July 2020 to complete the arbitration.

The Petition is disposed of accordingly.
