The Petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. By an order dated 19th December 2017, this Court appointed Mr Shrinivas Bobde, learned Advocate of this Court as the sole arbitrator. The parties' disputes arose under a Franchise Agreement dated 3rd May 2014.

Mr Bobde entered upon a reference to his arbitration on 22nd December 2017. He had before him an Application under Section

17. The Respondents filed a Counter Claim. The learned sole arbitrator made an order of 23rd December 2018 on the Interim Application. It seems that before the learned sole arbitrator the evidence of the claimant came to be closed for failure to adhere to the original schedule and to complete the filings on time. In the 13th January 2020

24-ARBP47-20-MODIFIED.DOC meantime, the respondents to the arbitration filed the evidence affidavits of two witnesses. The advocates for the claimants say that they intend to file an application for recall of the order closing their evidence, and, if permitted, to then lead the evidence on behalf of the claimant. I only note this because it seems to me this will require a further enlargement of time. I will, accordingly, extend the time of the arbitral mandate to 22nd December 2020.

Vakalatnamas on behalf of the Respondents in the Contempt Petition and in the Arbitration Petition are to be filed in the registry within one week.
