The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The parties had a Development Agreement dated 3rd May 2007. The disputes between the parties were referred to the sole arbitration of Mr Astad Randeria, learned Advocate of this Court by an order dated 18th January 2018. The learned sole arbitrator entered upon the reference to his arbitration on 20th January 2018. The arbitration proceedings have continued before him and are now at the stage where final arguments of Claimants are over and the final arguments for the Respondents are yet pending. There will be a short rejoinder to the extent necessary. There was a previous extension of six months by consent and then a further extension by an order of this Court on 22nd July 2019 for a period of 6th January 2020

I am informed that the advocates for the Respondents, M/s Khaitan & Co, when served this petition, replied saying that they were no longer representing the Respondents. It is for this reason that I will grant a slightly longer extension of time until 12th June 2020.
