The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a male minor, Adarsh. He was born on 17th April 2018. His biological mother surrendered him to the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai Suburban District on 26th April 2018. He was then given in custody to the Petitioner institution, St. Catherine's Home, Mumbai. The prospective adoptive parents took the minor in pre-adoption foster

care pending the adoption order of the Court. The Pre-adoption foster care undertaking dated 15th September 2018 is on record. 2.

The Child Welfare Committee declared the child legally free for adoption on 13th July 2018.

The proposed adoptive parents are Indian Nationals and are residing at Elphinstone Road, Mumbai. They are 40 and 33 years old. They have been married for 25 years. They have no biological children. The motivation letter by the adoptive parents is on record. 4.

At the time of marriage, the adoptive father was 15 and the adoptive mother was 8 years old. The marriage was solemnised between them as per the customary rites and rituals of Uttar Pradesh. The Certificate of Marriage Registration is on record. 5.

The medical reports of the minor are on record. The reports show no abnormalities. The health report of the adoptive parents also show no abnormalities. The HIV reports for all are negative. 6.

The adoptive father is working as a General Manager with Jini Knits Fabrics, Mumbai. His annual salary is Rs. 3,75,000/-. The adoptive mother is a homemaker.

The home study report is positive and recommends the adoption. It shows that the couple has a strong and stable marital life.

There is a Guardianship Undertaking by the brother and sister-in-law of the adoptive father. They reside at Mumbai and have agreed and undertaken to look after the minor in the event of any mishap.

The proposed change of name from 'Adarsh' to 'Adarsh Lauhar Prasad' is approved.

10. Having regard to the financial status of the adoptive parents, I have fixed the investment for the minor at Rs. 50,000/-.

11. The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

12. I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

13. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.

14. Authenticated or certified copies of this order and the entire Petition may be given to the minor on his application after he attains the age of 18.
