The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The parties entered into a Distribution Agreement dated 17th November 2014 which provided for arbitration under Clause 20. Disputes arose between the parties. By a letter dated 21st August 2018, the petitioner nominated Ms Nelly Mehta, Advocate, as the sole arbitrator, and intimated her of her appointment by a letter dated 5th October 2018. The learned Arbitrator entered upon the reference to her arbitration shortly thereafter.

Before the arbitrator, the matter proceeded. The arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of cross-examination of the Petitioner's witnesses. The arbitral mandate ended on 4th October 2019.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate until 30th June 2020 to complete the arbitral proceedings.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
