The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The Agreement between the parties dated 20th October 2000 contains the arbitration clause at Clause 56. By an order dated 19th March 2018, the disputes between the parties were referred to the sole arbitration of Hon'ble Justice Mr S.S Parkar, Former Judge of this Court. The learned Arbitrator entered upon his reference to arbitration shortly thereafter. 2.

On the expiry of a period of twelve months on 2nd April 2019, the time limit of the arbitral proceedings was extended by a period of six months by mutual consent of the parties until 1st October 2019. Subsequently, the arbitral mandate was further 13th January 2020

23-ARBP1599-19.DOC extended by a period of three months by an order of this Court dated 30th September 2019. The extended mandate of the sole arbitrator expired on 31st December 2019. The proceedings have reached the final stage and only the award remains to be passed. 3.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending time for the arbitral proceedings until 31st March 2020. 4.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
