The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The Petitioner and the Respondent No. 1 entered into two Loan Agreements on 1st November 2014. Disputes arose between the parties. The Petitioner invoked Arbitration under the said Agreements separately and vide letter dated 9th February 2017, Mr Ranjeev P Carvalho was appointed as the sole arbitrator by mutual consent of the parties. The learned Arbitrator entered upon the reference to his arbitration shortly thereafter. 24th January 2020

Before the arbitrator, the matter proceeded. After the original arbitral mandate ended on 14th March 2018, the parties agreed to an initial extension of six months. This Court then granted a further extension for a period of six months by an order dated 14th January 2019. This extended mandate ended on 14th July 2019. 3.

The arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of filing of Affidavit of Evidence by the Petitioner .

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate until 30th August 2020.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
