The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The parties entered into a contract dated 20th February 2014. Disputes arose between the parties in respect of the said contract. By an order dated 24th June 2016 of this Court, Mr Justice (Retd.) M. G. Gaikwad, former Judge of this Court, was appointed as the sole arbitrator. He entered upon the reference to his arbitration on 27th June 2016.

Before the arbitrator, the matter proceeded. The original arbitral mandate ended on 25th December 2017. By an order dated 04th September 2018, this Court extended the mandate for six 30th January 2020

923-CARBP-28-20-I.DOC months. The cross examination of Petitioner's witness could not be completed due to his failing health and subsequent demise, thereby delaying the arbitral proceedings. The extended arbitral mandate ended on 04th March 2019.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate from 04th March 2019 until 01st December 2020 to complete the arbitral proceedings.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
