Ms.Singhania, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that both the respondents are served. None appeared for the respondent no.1.

By this petition filed under section 29-A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, the petitioner seeks extension of time to enable the learned arbitrator to render an award. 18 months period has already expired on 23rd December, 2017. Learned counsel for the respondent no.2 has no objection if the extension as prayed by the petitioner is granted. The matter is at the evidence stage. 3.
Learned arbitrator is granted 12 months time to render an 1/2
1-arbp42-18 award with effect from 24th December, 2017. The parties are directed to co-operate with each other and also with the learned arbitrator in rendering the award within the extended period. It is made clear that no further extension would be granted.

The arbitration petition is disposed of in aforesaid terms. The petitioner is directed to convey this order to the respondent no.1 as well as to the learned arbitrator. No order as to costs. (R.D. DHANUKA, J.) 2/2
