The petitioner has alternate remedy of approaching the Caste Scrutiny Committee by filing an application under Sections 6 and 7 of the Maharashtra Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Denotified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification

2 35-wp106-17.odt of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000. Accordingly, the petitioner has already approached the said Committee, however, the Committee has not taken any decision.

We are declined to entertain this petition on the ground that the petitioner has alternate remedy and he has already made an application under the said provisions. Reserving the right of the petitioner to pursue the said remedy, the petition is disposed of.

We direct the Caste Scrutiny Committee to decide the application filed by the petitioner, expeditiously.
