The only relief which we can consider in the present writ petition is to the extent of directions to the committee to decide validation proceeding expeditiously.

We have heard Mr. Jarare, learned counsel for the petitioner. Though Mr. Jarare, learned counsel for the petitioner tried to impress upon us about the pendency of the proceeding before the Scrutiny Committee and that the petitioner is not at fault for the Committee not deciding the proceeding within stipulated period, we can only consider the prayer to the extent of seeking direction against the Committee to decide the validation proceeding expeditiously.

The petitioner shall appear before the Committee on 18.01.2021. 4.

Considering the fact that the petitioner is elected as Member/ Sarpanch from reserved category and requires validity within stipulated period, the Committee shall endeavour to decide the validation proceeding as expeditiously as possible, preferably within three months on its own merits.

Writ petition disposed of. No costs.
