The petitioner seeks correction of date of birth in the school record.

We have heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader. 3.

Respondent No. 2 has rejected the application on the ground that the petitioner has left the school. 4.

It is only in case of obvious mistake, respondent No. 2 - Education Ofcer (Secondary) can consider the application for correction of date of birth in the school record even after the candidate has left the school.

The reference can be had to the Judgment of the Full Bench of this Court in the case of Janabai D/o Himmatrao Thakur Vs. The State of Maharashtra and Ors. in Writ Petition No. 8085 of 2017 decided on 17th October, 2019. 6.

Considering the above, the impugned order is set aside. 7.

The Education Ofcer (Secondary) shall reconsider the proposal seeking correction of date of birth of the petitioner in the school record on its own merits after considering all the relevant record.

The same shall be decided preferably within a period of six months.

9.

The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
