Petitioners herein have challenged the order dated 22nd July, 2022 passed by the Chairperson, Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission, directing the Special Inspector General of Police, Amravati to consider the present case on its merits and direct the concerned offcers to hold an enquiry and to take appropriate decision for registering the First Information Report immediately. 2.

Learned counsel for petitioners states that the Human Rights Commission has no right to direct registration of crime. Perusal of the operative order indicates that the Human Rights

- 2 - criwp47.23.odt Commission has not issued directions to the Police Offcer to register the crime. The directions are in the nature of recommendations. 3.

Learned APP states that pursuant to the said order, enquiry was conducted and the complaint is found to be malicious. Hence, decision has been taken not to register the First Information Report. Learned APP has placed on record report dated 23rd December, 2022 alongwith forwarding letter dated 15th January, 2023. The same are taken on record.

In view of the said report and the decision taken thereto, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. The petition stands disposed of.
