An application under Section 13 of the Arms Act, 1959 was rejected by learned Collector, Latur on 27th July, 2011 and confirmed in appeal by the Divisional Commissioner, Aurangabad vide order dated 14th September, 2012. The refusal, under Section 14 of the Arms Act, for issuance of arms

18.16crwp (2) licence in favour of the petitioner was based on pendency of criminal proceedings against him. 2.

It is brought to my notice by learned Counsel for the petitioner that after the said decision, the petitioner was acquitted by the competent Court in the said criminal case by verdict dated 24th September, 2013.

In view of this subsequent development, in my opinion, it will be worth to observe that the petitioner will be at liberty to apply afresh under Section 13 of the Arms Act before the Collector, Latur for issuance of the licence.

With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
