Both the Petitioners are ladies, who are teachers in the schools in Zilla Parishad. Both are admittedly posted in a difficult/remote places. Admittedly, both are covered by the Government Resolution dated 15.02.2018, which prohibits transfer of ladies to remote/extreme remote and difficult areas. 2.

The Petitioners have been transferred in the general transfers of 2023. This transfer order was issued through the Teacher Transfer Management System, operated for the

(( 2 )) 903-WP-624-2024 Government of Maharashtra, Rural Development Department. In similar cases, this Court has directed that such lady teachers should not be posted in remote/extreme remote or difficult areas. Earlier, a special committee formed by the Zilla Parishad was looking into such grievances. We are informed that, now such grievances will be looked into by Respondent No.2 Deputy Secretary, Rural Development Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off. Respondent No.2 shall initiate appropriate steps and shall ensure that the provisions of the Government Resolution dated 15.02.2018 are implemented with regard to these two teachers and they are moved out of the difficult/remote/extremely remote areas by May 2024, so as to join the plain area on a transfer, from the academic year June 2024 onwards.
