1) The application is filed for suspension of substantive sentence. The appellant is convicted and sentenced for offences punishable under sections 7, 13(1) (d) read with section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Maximum sentence of imprisonment of 5 years and fine of Rs.25,000/- is imposed. Learned counsel for the appellant made statement that entire fine amount is
2 Application 170/2015 deposited. There is such endorsement on the copy of the judgment. Statement is made that the appellant has surrendered to bail and at present he is in custody. In view of the fact that the appeal is already admitted, substantive sentence needs to be suspended.
