The Petitioner claims to belong to "Mannervarlu", Scheduled Tribe (ST). He has secured admission to M.B.B.S. Course, as against a seat earmarked for the aforesaid category. The tribe certificate issued to the Petitioner is referred for verification to the Scrutiny Committee and proposal is stated to be pending. In the meanwhile the Dean of the College has called upon the Petitioner to submit validation certificate within specified period and he has been further warned that, in the event of his failure, he will not be permitted to appear for the examination.

In these facts of the case, this Petition can be disposed of by issuing direction to Respondent No.2 Scrutiny Committee to take
decision on the tribe certificate verification proposal in respect of the Petitioner as expeditiously as possible, and preferably within EIGHT MONTHS from today and it is accordingly directed.

In the meanwhile, Respondent Nos.3 and 4 are directed to permit the Petitioner to prosecute further studies and to appear for university examination, subject however, to the decision in respect of the tribe verification proposal pending with the Scrutiny Committee.

In view of above, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
