I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner for some time.

It appears that in the year 2011, Crime No.168 of 2011 for an offence punishable under Section 307 etc. of the IPC came to be registered against the petitioner and at the instance of the person, who is the victim of the said crime, the revolver licence of the petitioner was revoked by the concerned Collector under Section 17(3)(b) of the Arms Act, 1959 on 04.02.2013. The petitioner has filed an application for renewal of the licence under Section 15 of the Arms Act 1959, however, the Collector concerned has rejected the said
909-WP.1658-21.odt application for the reason that after revocation of the earlier licence, no renewal can be granted and the applicant may file an application afresh for grant of revolver licence. 3.
In view of the above, the learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, seeks leave to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to file an application for grant of revolver licence before the concerned authority. 4.
Leave granted.

Writ Petition is disposed off as withdrawn.

The Collector concerned has already granted liberty to the petitioner to file an application afresh for grant of licence. In view of the same, there is no reason to grant liberty again to the petitioner. However, if the petitioner desires to file an application for grant of licence under the provisions of the Arms Act, 1959, it is for the competent authority to decide the said application on its own merits in terms of the provisions of the Arms Act, 1959.
