The petitioner has put-forth a request that as he has worked as Hostel Superintendent for the period 01.07.1996 till 01.01.2006, the view taken by this Court in the judgment dated 04.11.2009 in Writ Petition No.2352/2010, be followed. A similar view was taken by this Court in the judgment dated 17.12.2018 delivered in Writ Petition No.624 of 2018 (Pandit Khema Rathod V/s. The State of Maharashtra and Ors.) by which a verification exercise is directed and if the petitioner is found to be entitled to the payment of higher pay scale, such payment is to be granted to him. 2.

In the present case, the petitioner has worked as a Hostel Superintendent for a brief period, as mentioned above. In view of the above,

( 2 ) 90 wp 1741.23 this petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent nos.2 and 3 to verify the claim of the petitioner and if he is found eligible and entitled to the higher pay scale, for the brief period during which he has worked as a Hostel Superintendent, the arrears of salary be calculated and the same be paid to the petitioner.
