In the affidavit-in-reply presented on behalf of the District Magistrate it is recorded that petitioner had already presented application no. 27.01.2015 claiming delivery of revolver and renewal of the license. The District Magistrate on receipt of the application has called for report of the Superintendent of Police. Learned counsel for petitioner states that the Superintendent of Police has also transmitted the report to the District Magistrate.

In the circumstances, it is desirable to direct the District Magistrate to take decision on the application tendered by petitioner on 27.01.2015 claiming custody of the licensed revolver, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from today and, it is accordingly directed. Writ petition stands disposed of.
