Sujata Ramesh Sonwane And Another v. The State Of Maharashtra And Others
{1} wp 992.15.odt
IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE OF BOMBAY
BENCH AT AURANGABAD WRIT PETITION NO.992 OF 2015 Smt. Sujata w/o Ramesh Sonwane & another Petitioners
Versus
The State of Maharashtra and others Respondents Mr.D.S.Bagul advocate for the petitioners Mrs.A.V. Gondhalekar, AGP for Respondent State Mr.S.T. Shelke advocate for respondent No.2 CORAM : R.M. BORDE & P.R. BORA, JJ Dated : 28th January, 2015.
PER COURT :- Petitioner is aggrieved by the rejection of his objection in respect of formation of wards.
The basic contention of the petitioner is that, while recording 2011 census, the exact population of ST category, residing in the village, has not been recorded properly, which has resulted in reducing the representation for the said category during the Village Panchayat elections. The petitioner, in effect, challenges the survey conducted while carrying out the general census, which challenge, we are afraid, cannot be entertained, in exercise of writ jurisdiction.
The writ petition is devoid of substance and stands dismissed.
