Mr. Hon, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Education Officer has already passed an order for correction of the name of the father of the petitioner in the School record. The board (respondent No. 4) is not making the necessary correction. 2.

The learned advocate for the respondent No. 4 submits that as the petitioner has left the school, in view of Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code, the correction cannot be made. 3.

It has been held by the full bench of this Court that Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code is directory and obvious mistakes can be corrected.

The respondent No. 4 shall not refuse to correct the name as claimed by the petitioner only on the ground that the petitioner has left the school. The decision shall be taken within three days from today.
