Learned APP has pointed out that the Government has published a Resolution dated 27.2.2013 wherein Special procedure is provided and different committees are formed for deciding whether any person ought to be granted police protection. There are three such committees. The petitioner so far had approached the committee "A" at district level. His police protection was withdrawn. However, he still has an option to exhaust the remedy as provided by clause 9 of the Government Resolution wherein it is provided that such person

( 2 ) can make application directly to the committee headed by the Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order. 2.

In this view of the matter, the petitioner is granted liberty to make an application within a period of one week from today before that committee. If such an application is filed, it shall be decided within a further period of one month. Since the petitioner was given police protection till 21.12.2021 he shall be afforded the same police protection. This protection shall continue till the decision of the committee. If the petitioner does not make any application before that committee, the protection so granted shall be withdrawn after the period of five weeks from today. All contentions of both the parties are left open. Writ petition is disposed of. BHARAT P. DESHPANDE, J.
