The petitioners pray for issuance of appointment orders on the basis that their names are in the selection list. It is not the case of the petitioners that any person below their serial numbers in the select list have been issued with appointment orders and that these petitioners have been singled out for not issuing any appointment orders.

The law on selection and appointment is crystallized. Mere selection does not give a right to appointment. 3.

The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that two writ petitions bearing Nos. 2641 of 2022 and 2851 of 2022 are pending before this court. On 1.3.2022, this Court had directed not to give appointment orders to the candidates who are selected for the post of

wp1427.23 -2Vidyut Sahayyak from the General category possessing less marks than petitioners. Though the order is clear and unambiguous, the learned advocate for the petitioners submits that their prospective employer does not desire to issue appointment orders to anybody. 4.

Considering the above, this petition is disposed off. If the petitioners have any grievance with regard to the order passed by this court on 1.3.2022, they would be at liberty to avail of the remedy, as is permissible in law.
