The petitioner, who is elected as Sarpanch, was supposed to file caste validity certificate by 17 January 2023. Her claim for validation is awaiting decision by the Scrutiny Committee.

The interim relief is being claimed on the ground that the matter is pending with the Committee. Suffice to note that the consequence is axiomatic.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondent No. 2/Scrutiny Committee to take final decision on petitioner's claim as expeditiously as possible and in any event, within a period of four months from today.
