The present contempt petition has been filed against the disobedience/non-compliance of the order dated 08.12.2022, passed by this Court in Criminal Application No. 2731 of 2022 in Anticipatory Bail Application No. 560 of 2019. By the said order, the applicant was permitted to withdraw an amount of Rs. 20 lakhs deposited in the Trial Court, along with the accrued interest. However, the affidavit in reply submitted on behalf of the respondent makes it clear that the amount deposited by the petitioner was not invested in FDR, and as such, no interest has accrued on the said amount.

In that view of the matter, there is no disobedience/noncompliance of the order passed by this Court. In result, there is no merit in the Contempt Petition; hence, it is rejected. [ S. G. CHAPALGAONKAR, J. ] HRJadhav
