Criminal Application No.267 of 2025 filed by informant for intervention seeking permission to assist the public prosecution is allowed.

Present application is for grant of regular bail precisely on the sole ground of long incarceration of the applicant, who is behind bars since 04.01.2018. Apparently, FIR is of 02.01.2018.

-2- BA.2262.2024 Now, report is placed before this court by learned APP that trial is already underway and prosecution has examined 17 witnesses out of proposed list of 48 witnesses. Resultantly, trial is almost halfway through and only few witnesses have remained to be examined. Therefore, taking the above factual circumstances into consideration, when the trial is said to be on the terminal end, application for regular bail pressed into service deserves to be rejected.

However, learned trial court is requested to conclude the trial as early as possible.

The bail application stands rejected.
