Mr. Salunke learned advocate for the petitioner submits that right since 1995, the post of Sarpanch of Grampanchayat Tugaon was never reserved for OBC category though in the year 2000, it was reserved for OBC women category, in the years 1995, 2005 and 2010, the post was reserved for General category and in the year 2015, it was reserved for SC category. Learned counsel submits that considering the rotation policy, the post of Sarpanch of Grampanchayat Tugaon ought to have been reserved for OBC category. The same would have been in conformity with the rotation policy.

We have heard the learned I/c Govt. Pleader for the respondents/State.

In fact, 50% posts are to be reserved for women. The post of Sarpanch for Women were never reserved from 2005. The reservation for Women is necessary this time and the same has been reserved for OBC (women) category. The same would be in conformity with the rotation policy.
