This Petition has been filed on apprehension that Respondent Nos. 2 to 6 Company is likely to disconnect the electricity connection to the Petitioners factory. 2.

We are informed that a proceeding is pending before the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) and the Petitioner has paid the electricity charges in terms of Section 56(1) proviso (b) of the Electricity Act, 2003.

The Petitioner is allegedly in arrears of Rs.49 Lakhs towards the electricity charges. The details of the purported arrears are as under :- (i) On 29.12.2023 - CIR ID: 30405520, Rs. 14,01,880/- for 68 months.

(ii) On 29.12.2023 - CIR ID : 30400752, Rs. 26,22,680/- for 68 months.

Since this Petition has been filed on apprehension, a Writ of Mandamus, on a probable disconnection, cannot be issued. There is no cause of action existing before us, as on date. The Petitioner is at liberty to request for an early hearing before the CGRF, and seek a decision, expeditiously. All contentions are kept open. 5.
